Just finished chapter 10 of Sacrifices, book two of Kat Loveland's Honor Bound series. Unfortunately after 10 chapters there still hasn't been much action for me. It's all been around the fashion show, which I understand that the author used as a relief for the characters as they deal with things, but I was hoping that after 10 chapters we would be more back into the action. But I'm only about half way through the book and I know the action is coming but from the way the first book was this series should be more action/suspense filled and I feel we've kind of lost that in the first 10 chapters of the second book. I will admit that I did enjoy the fashion show; it was interesting and fun to see them all in a different environment, but I feel it could maybe have been condensed to few chapters because like I said before, I feel this series is meant to be more action filled. These are just a few of my general reflections on what I have read so far. I don't want to spoil anything and I'm sure things will heat up in the second half.
I'm hoping to finish the book by the end of the week, and if not hopefully by Monday. Happy reading everyone :)
Hello again!! I'm glad you're enjoying the book. Just some clarification for your readers. The fashion show is one chapter. There is build up to it but that build up is centered around the character development of everyone. They have a lot to process. There's also time needed to track down their enemies. I'm looking forward to seeing more of your updates. Kat
ReplyDeleteI suppose I did word that awkwardly. I meant it including the days up to the fashion show and whatnot. I probably could have specified but I wrote it kind of quickly.
ReplyDeleteNo worries, I just didn't want people thinking I dragged a fashion show over 10 chapters lol. That would be a bit excessive. :)
